1. Create a NorthStar Community Downtown during the week for those with no transportation. 

2. Create a NorthStar Community for inner city kids, youth, teenagers with children, runaways.

3. Create a NorthStar support group for Latino women.

4. Resume a mid-week NorthStar 12 Step Meeting at The Healing Place.

5. Provide support for men’s transitional house in KY.

6. Provide single subject notebooks for the Healing Place.6. TEAM COMPLETE.

7.7. Car Raffle “Gala” Fundraiser for The Healing Place – 1000 tickets for $100 or 100 tickets for $1000 or somewhere in between – sell raffle tickets for a car, evening of fun, door prizes, food for all.

8. 8.Do something around Father’s Day to minister to dad’s who are in recovery but are still separated from their families - they need to know that their role is important to their families.

9.9. Sponsor “Dads & Kids” events to promote more daddy time and give mommies a break too! For instance:  picnic at Maymont park, trip to the children’s museum, cookout at somebody’s house with all the kids together, gym “night” @ BABC, etc.

10 10.Children in Ziyang China - 48 children welfare institution, 20 under age 4, in need of 50 cribs and cots, bandages, 10 milk pots, children's clothes, 100 sets of beddings, bowls, spoons, chopsticks, toys, stationery supplies.

11. 11.Knit or crochet for those in need at The Healing Place.

12. 12.Set up a Parent’s Night Out to reach out to our community for people in need of personal time.  Drop the kids off @ BABC for a few hours; we provide the childcare & activities for free.

13.13. Provide Spanish Life Recovery Bibles to our Latino friends in the NorthStar prison ministry .  Or maybe any ESL person finding it difficult to read the English Bible.

14. Begin a NorthStar 12 Step meeting in a Richmond jail or prison to extend the reach of our Prison Ministry.7.

About the Minister - Teresa McBean joined the staff of Bon Air Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia as the NorthStar Community Minister in January, 2003 after holding the position as a volunteer for four years. NorthStar Community (formerly known as Celebrate Recovery) was founded on a strong conviction that people can be restored to health in every dimension of their life through Christ. Teresa is a graduate of the University of Virginia, and a certified biblical counselor. She and her husband, Peter, have been members of Bon Air for over 20 years and have three children.
